Game Safety & Etiquette

Keep your child safe by setting up Parental Controls on your child's Pirate101 Account.

    Why?
  • Parental Controls allow you to control whether your child has access to text chat (safe) or menu chat (safer).
  • You can control whether or not your child can exchange True Friend codes for unfiltered chat with their real life friends.
  • You establish a separate login that prevents your child from accessing billing and personal information.
    How?
  • Login into your child’s account
  • Click "My Account"
  • Click "Parental Controls"
  • Enter the Master Password. If you do not have one, you can create it here
  • Check on/off for the features you wish your child to have or not have

Do NOT give your child the Master Password email address or password.

    Why?
  • If your child has that information, he/she can change the parental control features.
  • If your child has the email address and access to the email account, he/she can request a new password (which will be sent to that email address) and change the password.

Game Etiquette - The Do's and Don'ts of being a Good Sport in Pirate101

    Do:
  • Help other players when they are in trouble or if they ask for assistance.
  • Ask your friends if you can join them before you teleport to them in the game.
  • Use the Ignore feature. If you see someone saying something that makes you feel uncomfortable, click on their name and choose Ignore. That way they will not be able to bother you again.
    Don't:
  • Don’t SHOUT AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS! People can see what you are saying without using all capital letters.
  • Don’t look for ways to break the rules of the game. If you see someone doing this, report them!
  • Don’t use “creative” spelling or word choices to say things you shouldn't say. The chat filters are in place for a reason and if you have to get creative to say something, then you shouldn't be saying it.
  • Don’t be a bully. Not only is it a mean thing to do, but it will get you banned from the game permanently!
  • Don’t forget the Golden Rule – Always treat others like you would like to be treated!
