Best Companions For House Decoration

There are many companions out there right now, and although a few are lacking in certain areas, and some perform better than others in different areas. However, we're looking at a very niche spot for companion usefulness- housing! Companions can always add a splash of life to your house, with people being there and all.

So, which companions add the most to your house? Feel free to post your thoughts! Personally, i like some of the randomized sidequest companions, especially the Weasel Gambler.(He's especially great if you're making something like a casino or tavern themed house!)

Well, many know that I take issue with saying that third tier companions are useless. I've used the Weasel Gambler effectively in even high level content. If you've leveled, promoted and trained ( remembering also to use an appropriate strategy ), for even your so-called "useless" companions; they can be quite effective if your favorites have to rest from battle.
But what I wish to say is that I use the Armada Musketeer as a house guest, in my Rake's Lagoon house ( inside the wrecked Armada ship ). This companion is considered one of the "best", however, I never wanted an Armada Companion and that's where he stays, until we get an update, then he will be put on permanent "Sailin'" duty!
Why waste a perfectly good companion by using them as decoration? When they can fight for you or work for you!
Really, pirates, there's no such thing as a "useless" companion!

I don't personally place any companions in my houses. To me, they are much more useful on Orders or fighting on my crews. However, I can see that decorating with a theme might be more effective with more action than pets can provide.

I know there are probably some spooky Witchdoctor's Grottos with undead companions like Dead Mike and Bones McCoy wandering around.

The Rake's lagoon almost begs to have some Monquistans here and there.

I agree with Willowydream and Abercorbie. Until such time as Pirate 101 has housing tours like Wiz, I would much prefer keeping my companions close and having them plunder, sail or pet wrangle for me!

I actually bought Dan Drake on my Swashbuckler specifically to have him be a bank teller in my cabin, there aren’t a lot of companions out there that have a good look for that profession. Despite Anecorbie’s endorsement of the Weasel Gambler he also found a spot in my cabin, populating the casino.

Another few companions I found nice for my cabin are the Armada and Cutthroats, I’ve glitched them both inside jail cells in a prison room guarded by Rooster Cogburn. I often take the armada ones out of jail to use in battle but the cutthroats haven’t left since I put them there. My Crazy Monquistador also runs a banana stand, I feel like that’s a fitting place for him.

Since it's is KI policy that we get so many companions and use them, perhaps it would be a better idea that they put "house guests" in a few ( new ) packs for us. That way, we get the best of both worlds - a little life in our houses/cabins and full use of our companions!

Great idea. If they ever give us another pack...

Me, I never put companions in my house (except when I'm decorating for one of Central's contests). I create threads on building lesser companions from time to time, trying to see the best in everyone. That doesn't mean they don't look cool in houses, but I never do it.
