I need help with PVP on my Musketeer. For some reason, I always run into Privateers, Nefarious Staff+Beastmaster Banner, and Nausica, all of which I cannot beat.

Here's my gear...

Hat: Corrupted Archer's Vestment (Doesn't show on Pirate101 Wiki for some reason.)
Outfit: Ranchero's Finery http://www.pirate101central.com/wiki/Item:Ranchero%27s_Finery
Boots: Centipede Shinguards http://www.pirate101central.com/wiki/Item:Centipede_Shinguards
Weapon: Swivel Gun http://www.pirate101central.com/wiki/Item:Swivel_Gun_(Level_60%2B)
Accessory: Master Smuggler's Cowl http://www.pirate101central.com/wiki/Item:Master_Smuggler's_Cowl
Totem: Prince of Illios Quiver http://www.pirate101central.com/wiki/Item:Prince_of_Illios_Quiver
Charm: Ki-rin's Jade http://www.pirate101central.com/wiki/Item:Ki-Rin's_Jade
Ring: Sapphire Aztecosaur Ring http://www.pirate101central.com/wiki/Item:Sapphire_Aztecosaur_Ring_(Rouse) (The Ring has Sniper Shot instead of Rouse. The name is the same however.)

I trained up to Fast 2 in Swashbuckler, up to Spooky 2 in Witchdoctor, All Musketeer Clandestine Epics from Devilfish Hollow, and Witch Hunter.

Companions I use...

Old Scratch, Lv. 65 Undead Houngan
Epics: Flow Mojo, Flow!, Mo Mojo Flow, Mojo Flow, Jobu's Breath, Cadaver's Chanty, Improved Mojo Blast 3, Mojo Echo 3, Witch Hunter 1
Talents: Spooky 4, Spirited 4, Rough 4, Dodgy 3, Armored 1

Chantal Livingstone, Lv. 65 Flamingo Marksbird
Epics: Sniper Shot x2, Cloud Spirit, Super Strike (Musketeer), Pirate 3, Overwatch 2, Burst Fire 2, Double Tap 2, Quick Adjust 1
Talents: Agile 4, Rough 4, Dodgy 4, Tough 4

Duck Holiday, Lv. 65 Duck Hero
Epics: Musketeer's Mastery, Quick Draw 2, True Grit 2, Burst Fire 2
Talents: Tough 4, Agile 4, Rough 4, Armored 4

Sorry for the very long cramped wall of text. I hope you can help me. I really want the Spring PVP Weapon, but time is running out...

Farm the tower of Moo Manchu and get the nefarious blaster like I have which is extremely better then the swivel gun, and aswell I use Louis (the crab guy) over Duck Holiday for the double bomb spam strategy.

Sorry but I forgot to put it in the other post but just farm the Moo Manchu tower for all of the musketeer's gear, it is very, and I mean VERY beneficial.

I think it's the lack of protection that's not winning here. One fort is not enough to really survive against a nausica. I recommend the southern cross gem and the stormzilla's egg, and replace the ki-rins jade for sprocket key. This will give you a purge to defeat nausica rushes and 2 forts. Other then that, your gear seems to be good.

For companions, I recommend for scratch Spirited 4, Rough 4, Accurate 4, and Tough 4, since you're lacking 15% chance to hit, and scratch really isn't going to dodge even with dodgy 4. Armored is pretty useless when it's so low.

For Chantal, Overwatch 3 and drop the quick adjust or one rank of double tap. And for talents, I suggest Agile 4, Tough 4, Rough 4, and Accurate 4, because like Scratch, unless you get really lucky, chances are, Chantal isn't going to dodge. (Although against scorpions, I suggest you drop the Quick Adjust.)

If you're using duck to counter nausica, then I suggest True grit 3 and Burst 2 with Double Tap. Armored 4 I guess would be ok in this sense, but remember that a fort will already protect duck a lot, especially if you're using grit 3.

Another great companion to counter nausica would be ratbeard instead of duck, who is also very reliable against bucklers and bucks, with Cheap Shot 3, Hold the line 2, and First Strike 3. Slap on a fort, and he'll naturally be ready to counter nausica, with his reduce, bulk, and epics.

Against nef staff, you can't really do much except for trick shots, but normally double tap and burst chains should do the trick against scorpions, as your companions (except scratch) will hardly miss them.

Hope this helps and good luck!
