Fast combat lag issue: detailed explanation with examples

So I have came to the conclusion that fast combat lags quite a lot of people because of sound effects. A lot of sound cards or on-board sound from motherboards cannot handle it. I have a good computer and the game in general looks great and runs great except for fast combat. Animations from guns, some sword hits, and most critical strikes in general cause the game to have massive lag spikes. It always catches back up after the animation though so you don't fall behind. Can we expect to have a fix for fast combat in the future? No setting fixes this for me. The only thing that works is fully disabling sound effects.

I have provided some examples in my post. There are worse instances than these, but these are what I can show for now. Will provide more examples if needed. Note the frame counter in the top left corner.

Fyi it's not an issue with these specific animations, these are just examples to show it has to do with the game's sound engine and however fast combat was coded into the game. I'm sure with some work these issues can be ironed out to make a more enjoyable experience.

An interesting find, thanks Dustyspirit. I'll send this link to the team to review further.

Really? This hardly happens to me, but I can see the lag that it causes. (By the way, I covet your recording program. I've been looking for a decent one for months! Please tell me what it is! )

The only problem I have is with the musketeer's gun powers. That's the only power that really lags up my game. The computer that I have has about 128 GB of storage and is barely a year old. I still haven't been able to figure out how to cure it, but it drives me up a wall.

Also, as a side note to this, with the introduction of fast combat, a lot of critical hit music is messed up. For example, Barnabus, Dead Mike, Handsome Dan (this one is really bad), Sarah Steel's epic strike, player critical hit with a smashy/slashy weapon (a.k.a big sword weapon), Peter Quint, El Toro, Ratbeard's (and Blightbeard's) mega hit, and a lot of others. I don't have my game open right now, so my remembering skills are pretty limited, but a lot of other people can back me up on this.

When I have fast combat on, it does the same thing. It always lags from certain attacks. I hope it gets fixed soon.

Yeah musketeer powers (bombs especially) and even basic animations for example when you have a two pistols and rapid fire do cause intense lag. The high tier bombs even cause a crackle in sound because it stutters at 1 frame for a second or two.

It also happens with these animations too:

Subodai's Mega & Super hit
Kobe Yojimbo's Epic, Mega, and Super hit (If I remember correctly)
Wing Chun's Epic & Mega Hit

I don't have any video atm, but I'm sure you can see on any video with these companions in play.
